Twitter has recently started using a shortened URL service called t.co, resulting in a slow connection and sometimes it will not open. This can be disabled in Tweetbot for Mac, use the following command in Terminal to change this:
defaults write com.tapbots.TweetbotMac OpenURLsDirectly -bool true
