Thanks for pointing this, my computer is way saner now. But I notice that when I do that, combined with my general setting to always show scrollbars, then the “resize column” handle in every Finder of file selection window is missing. It comes back when I delete this “defaults write” setting. Do you also see this behaviour ?

command-alt click a dock item to switch while hiding others
Use command command-alt-h to hide all other apps but the front facing one.

I’m telling you all — the problems have their root in a new graphics stack that Apple isn’t supporting well on older hardware in High Sierra.

LOOK UP THE NVIDIA WEB DRIVER FOR OSX. Install it. Everything goes back to normal. Use your best judgement, but this is the best thing that has worked for me, and they seem to be actively developing it (they seem to know something we don’t know).

Pity. I hate seeing that ‘connect to server’ function. Has ANYONE come up with a new code to disable it since ’12???

It was Apple who said to do this, probably something gets turned off during the update.

How to disable the FINDER>Go> ‘connect to server’ on Safari/Mac? I really need a CURRENT solution instead of the one listed back in 2012..Since it’s been so long, I’m not sure if the one “listed’ in ’12 actually even works or not…Any ideas?
