Disable the menu option: ‘File ▸ Eject [volume]’ (cmd⌘ + E) in the Mac OS X Finder menubar.
Disable the menu option: ‘Empty trash’ and ‘Secure Empty trash’ in the Mac OS X Finder menubar and command + click trash contextual menu.
When opening a folder in OS X Finder, icon view is the default view style. Unless is has been manually changed through the Finder toolbar. You can change the default view style
Disable the menu option: ‘Go ▸ Connect to server…’ (cmd⌘ + K) in the Mac OS X Finder menubar.
In Finder you can show the path from root to the current folder (option: View ▸ Show Path Bar). With the following command the path will be displayed from the home folder. When browsing your Documents folder “Macintosh HD ▸ Users ▸ defaultswritecom ▸ Documents” (full path) will be shown as: “defaultswritecom ▸ Documents” in the path bar.
When attempting to change a file extension in OS X Finder a warning dialog will appear. This could be annoying if you know what you’re exactly doing. Turn off the extension change dialog with the following command.
